Jennifer is Anishnaabekwe (Ojibwe/ Potawatomi) from Wikwemikong First Nation and President of Invert Media. She takes pride in working to invert the conventional use of media by revealing the potential for Indigenous cultural expression through education, e learning and the arts. Jennifer is excited by the prospects of community empowerment from an Indigenous perspective. She is currently exploring the convergence between education, Indigenous knowledge
and new media technologies through a PhD program at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Her work in academia and in the private sector puts her in a unique position to tap the pulse of innovation in Aboriginal education and media. Ms. Wemigwans has worked extensively with Aboriginal communities in the exploration of innovative approaches to learning through a variety of projects through various media.
