David Poolman was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario. He is an MFA graduate from the University of Windsor, and a graduate of the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design. Working in video, print media, and installation, Poolman has exhibited in art galleries and screened in festivals both nationally and internationally. Poolman currently lives in Toronto and is a professor of Drawing and Performance at Sheridan College.
Kathryn Mockler received her MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia and her BA in Honours English and Creative Writing from Concordia University. Her fiction and poetry have been published most recently in Rattle Poetry, The Toronto Quarterly, Nothing. No One. Nowhere., The Prose-Poem Project, Branch Magazine, CellStories, PIF, The Puritan, La Petite Zine, nthposition, and This Magazine, and she has poems in upcoming issues of Descant and The Antigonish Review. Her poetry book Onion Man is forthcoming from Tightrope Books in November 2011.
Her feature screenplay Piss Tank was awarded a Praxis Fellowship and was a semifinalist in the Nicholl Fellowships, a quarterfinalist in the BlueCat Screenwriting Competition and the ASA Screenwriting Competition. In 2005, she attended the Canadian Film Centre's Writers' Lab and wrote two short films for the NBC/Universal Short Dramatic Film Program. Her films have been broadcast on TMN, Movieola, and Bravo and have screened at festivals such as the Washington Project for the Arts Experimental Media Series, Toronto International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Festival, Worldfest, Cinequest, and EMAF.
She has attended writing residences at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Sage Hill, TIFF Talent Lab, and through a fellowship sponsored by the San Francisco Film Society, she recently attended the Djerassi Resident Artist Program.
She teaches at the University of Western Ontario.
