Elyakim (Peter) Taussig

Peter (Elyakim) Taussig is a Canadian multi-disciplinary artist, musician, performer, and video artist. In the 1980s he produced experimental videos at Ed video in Guelph, and Charles Street Video in Toronto exploring the interplay of music, performance art, and video. He also taught video production on the faculty of Ryerson Polytechnical University. His video opera Catatonics was featured at the Montreal International Film Festival and many other venues and television worldwide.
As a performance artist he has created works in collaboration with The Music Gallery, Peter Chin, and Vera Frenkel. His musical credits include the founding of the chamber music ensemble Camerata, the position of musical director of the Stratford Summer Music Festival, performances with most major Canadian symphony orchestras, and numerous recordings for the CBC.
Since 1995 he has devoted his career to electronic music composition. He currently lives in Lenox, Massachusetts.
