Liz Marshall

Liz has been working extensively in the film and television industry since completing her studies in the Media Arts program at Ryerson Ploytechnical University, in Toronto in 1994.

Fresh out of University Liz directed her first music video (funded by VideoFACT) with local singer songwriter Kyp Harness. In 1995 Liz was commisioned to direct a documentary about renowned singer songwriter icon Ani DiFranco (funded by Ani DiFranco) .

Marshall has consistently worhed within the film and television industries since completing her studies. She completed the Media Arts Program with a split major in film and photography at Ryerson Polytechnical University in Toronto in 1994.

Liz has worked as a director, a producer, a television host, an editor, a photographer and an arts and culture video journalist for both independent and commercially produced projects. The highlights include: an independent documentary with and about singer songwriter icon ani difranco; 26 episodes of community based queer television as a co-host, associate producer and segment producer; videographer and segment producer for Arts&Minds, Bravos! weekly arts magazine; and arts and entertainment video journalism for MuchMusic and CityTV.

Currently Liz is applying for completion funds to edit a 1 hour film from 80 hours of footage from 1995 of ani difranco! Liz currently works at MuchMusic/CityTV as a videographer, covering stories that range from screaming little kid fans to mature subject matter.

Liz hopes to travel the world while creating cutting edge poetic documentaries on everything from social justice issues, animals and human idiosyncrasies.
