Simone Moir was born in South Hampton, England in 1973. In Toronto, she completed a degree in Integrated Media from the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Her video-based works include several experimental short documentaries and public performance interventions that explore individual and collective means of negotiating identity and voice. Situated in locations that make visceral the tension between commodity and freedom, her subjects struggle for unique and liberated forms to their actions.

Her non-documented performances include the flash mob intervention, VideoStoreMakeout and Unison Union, a participatory parade-style march incorporating yoga and sing-alongs to a military drum beat. As a performer and co-creator of PME-ART’s experimental theatre production Le Génies Des Autres/ Unrehearsed Beauty, she toured internationally over a period of 4 years. Currently, she works as a Gestalt Psychotherapist.
