Chandra Siddan Gargi

Chandra Siddan Gargi was born in Bangalore, India in 1962. After studies in English Literature she moved to New York where she studied filmmaking at the New School. She also worked as a journalist for a year. Later she lived a few years in Karlsruhe, Germany, where she directed some films including "The Gift" and "Williamsburg Experiment" (a documentary, 44:00). In 2000, she moved to Toronto where she initiated the Regent Park Film Festival in 2003 and ran it for 4 years. She completed “Remembrance of Things Present” a personal documentary about child marriage/labor in 2007 and “Mission Possible: The Unstoppable Surech Joachim” broadcast on OMNI TV nationally in 2011. “The Year I Did Acid” is her most recent film.
