Media Phantasmagoria is an exhibition of eight (8) videotapes by artist Lynn Hershman, who is concerned with investigating and portraying the different roles men and women play in media. The term phantasmagoria refers to spaces and scenes where desires and fantasies are projected and expressed. The works of Hershman focus on the notion of fantasy and desire and the representation of gender in the media universe and the differences in their representation.
