Our Not-So Welcome Past: Film Review: Continuous Journey

by Chris Knight

The National Post, Jan. 21, 2005

A review of the documentary film "Continuous Journey" playing in Toronto at Camera in January 2005. The film looks at a shameful incident in Canadian history in May of 1914, in which a chartered ship called the Komagata Maru holding 376 Indian citizens is withheld from landing for months in May of 1914, and eventually sent back due to racist feelings of the Canadian government, backed by the maneuvering of policies. Film reviewer Chris Knight outlnes Kazmi's arguments and criticizes the film on its technical aspects.
