EYE WEEKLY, Sept. 9, 2004
An Eye Magazine article by David Balzer discussing the work of Winnipeg based artist Daniel Barrow and his exhibition, Don't Let This Happen, which took place at Mercer Union in Toronto. The article discusses Barrow's unique style of presenting his work, which (to his fan base) takes on a "nearly heroic" quality that allows his viewers to experience a sort of pathos or catharasis. Balzer makes note of Barrow's instinctual desire to "reach out and touch", which - to Balzer - explains the artist's inability to restrict himself. The exhibit discussed here ended in the fall of 2004.
