From the Story Circle to Cyberspace: How Technology Transforms the Stories We Tell and How Women Transform the Stories We Hear

Jennifer LaFontaine and Camille Turner have been collaborating in The Story Project, a series of projects where women learn how to use new media to tell their stories. Their main objective is to insert the Toronto multiplicity communities in further development of the internet and digital technologies.

The Story Project has found its ways through different events like a conference in Senegal, a university course in Texas, a UNESCO international event for adult learners and the Canadian National Archives. It was shown as part of a group exhibit entitled Subverting Virtual Territories exhibited at Godfrey Dean Gallery in Saskatchewan curated by Elwood Jimmy. The Story Project, worked as well in partnership with InterAccess while Turner was working in a curatorial residency, they had an exhibition and offered workshops.
