Defense, and subsequently defenselessness, are addressed in Lida Abdul's video Military/ Body, 2004. This piece was created after Abdul's return to Afghanistan, where she had been seperated for two decades. The video addresses the "repercussions of defense" against Afghanistan witnessed by Abdul, and subsequently the defenselessness of the Afghan citizens in the wake of defense.
