This article is a review of a series of videos by the Lithuanian artist Deimantas Narkevicius that were screened on the lower level of the Vienna Secession. Narkevicius's videos merge "documentary material with interviews, re-enactments and art-historical imagery" in order to question the idea of ideological obligation. According to the author, some of the videos screened were successful in their merging of disparate elements, while others were not.
