Mexican-born artist Mario Garcia Torres works in the "old-fashioned" mediums of Super 8 and 16 mm film, black-and-white photography, slide projectors an printed materials. His works draw heavily from the history of conceptual art (in particular that of California) as well as Minimalist and modernist tendencies. Within his works he addresses nostalgia, memory and history.
