Parachute, 1999, v. 100, no. 66, pp. 123-131

The following is an English synopsis of an article written in French. In this article the author addresses the work of French artist Guillaume Paris, specifically his project entitled H.U.M.A.N.W.O.R.L.D. (Holistic and Utopian Multinational Alliance for New World Order and Research in Living and Dying). As part of this project Paris creates "products-portraits," works that use images of real people in product packaging. In the interactive installation We Are the World the poeple pictured on the objects move and speak in various languages. According to the author, Paris's works question the status of the individual within a global and multicultural society.
