A review of the exhibition catalogue for The Early Show: Video from 1969-1970. The article explores the community that surrounded the beginnings of single-channel video, its formal characteristics and as well as the resistance it encountered on entering the gallery space. Providing a descriptions of a few important landmarks videos in the show, such as Vito Acconci’s Theme Song and Joan Jonas Vertical Roll this exhibition celebrates "those who felt a shared sense of power and intrigue with the medium."
