Documentary Shows Pain of Incest

by Ursula Cafaro

The Varsity, Apr. 12, 1989, p. 16

The premier of I Am One of Them, Mothers Speak out about Incest at the Theatre Passe Muraille provoked an emotional response from several audience members. The film concentrates on mothers whose children have been sexually abused. Wendy Barnett, a consultant for the film and a professor at George Brown, declares that the mother's position in this situation was conventionally avoided since mother's are held accountable for the 'allowing' the abuse to continue.
