Subject to Change: Program of Works by Women of Color Challenges the Status Quo
The Independent, July 1990, pp. 10-13
Helen Lee discusses the confluencing inter-ethnic feminist issues of race, intergenerational differences, sexuality and identity within audio-visual work from Changing the Subject film series of 1990. Citing minority feminist perspectives as an underfunded genre of video art with low visibility in the contemporary cultural sphere, Lee emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts between distrubtors and exhibitors to advance the representation of multicultural feminist video texts.
