Four films by Pat O'Neill
Afterimage, Mar. 1975, v. 2, no. 9, pp. 2-3
In this foray into the films of Pat O’Neill, writer Scott Hammen makes a case for him as an expander of filmic language itself, on par with such pioneers as Man Ray and Dziga Vertov. Through the use of an optical projector, O’Neill has created four films, 7362, Runs Good, Down Wind, and Easy Out, that are both satirical and formal. The balance between these poles is where Hammen find O’Neill’s unique genius.
