Elizabeth Corr reviews the catalogue of Personal Affects. The catalogue contains of two essays, written by Okwui Enwezor and Liese van der Watt, and artist interviews, conducted by Tracy Murinik, which highlight the exhibition's focus on South Africa and identity politics. Identities are negotiated and mediated not only through dealing with South Africa's legacy of apartheid but more importantly, through artistic practices and processes of artistic production. The exhibition utilizes various media, including drawing, video, sculpture, dance, and installation.
