A review of Transmedia 2000 curated by the visual artist Michael Alstad. For a duration of three weeks, Alstad projected 12 video shorts of diverse range of media and by artists from all over the world onto the LED screen at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto. The show not only took art out of the white cube gallery space, but also addressed the challenge of raising and commenting on social issues without conforming to uncritical media strategies.
