A discussion of the incipient launch of national public-access series Deep Dish TV, a project by Paper Tiger Television and Boston Film/Video Foundation. The social issues series is intended to bring higher-quality productions by independents to historically low-budget local public access. Because of cable company structure that the organizers claim actively prevents nationally-funded, higher quality and therefore more compelling public access programs to be broadcast, communities must actively request that this national series be broadcast by their local cable company.
