About Faces: The New Work of Peter Campus
Art in America, Mar. 1977, v. 65, pp. 85-88
"About Faces: The New Work of Peter Campus" is a review of Campus' new video installations in the M.I.T.'s Hayden Gallery. His installations, consisting of a video camera, an infrared light, a projector, a light-framed field projected onto a wall, all in a dark room, are too immediate and personal, once the viewer steps into camera range and sees themselves. Campus creates a participatory, spatial, emotional, visual, and physiological experience where the viewer explores their own image through the video projection.
