In this article, Constance de Jong provides an analysis of Joan Jonas' performance video Organic Honey's Vertical Roll (1972). The content of Jonas' work is described as exploring "a relationship between performer, activity and image" (28). However, De Jong also offers a discussion of various technical elements of the camera medium, such as the titular vertical roll, and blends it into an insight on the aesthetic and theoretical elements of Jonas' work and the interplay between performance and the technicality of video.
