Ulrike Rosenbach: An Interview

by Karen Henry

Video Guide, Oct. 1984, v. 6, no. 5, pp. 6-7

This article is an interview. In Vancouver, September 1984, Karen Henry had a conversation with German video artist Ulrike Rosenbach. Rosenbach is known for her explorations of womanhood and spirituality. In her new tape: Inner Landscape, Insight Image, "a delicate portrait of her struggle to subdue her energies", she demonstrates sophisticated imagery and technical control. Ulrike speaks to Henry about her latest work, and her severed relationship to the feminist movement in favour of the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. She talks about working as an artist in Germany, her love of video, performance art, and the representations of spiritual ritual in her work.
