Independent filmmaker Midi Onodera is a Canadian Japanese Lesbian, her work has been regarded for its political and controversial content. Her most famous controversial video Ten Cents A Dance at the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (1986) was subjected to the protests of angry Lesbian viewers. Onodera's video work aims to arouse discussions regarding issues of homophobia, racism, and sexism.
