Judy Radul

by Aaron Peck

Canadian Art, Spring 2010, v. 27, no. 1, pp. 106, 108

This is a review of Judy Radul's World Rehearsal Court, a seven-channel video installation spanning multiple rooms. In one room, the viewers can watch a court trial progress across a number of screens. Other rooms consist of various items that are supposedly 'evidence,' and surveillance videos on which the viewers can view themselves. The artwork addresses ideas of testimony, war crimes and surveillance, and by involving the viewer in the installation, explores "how performance and technology determine what can be articulated truthfully."
