Shirin Neshat: Women Without Men

In this interview, Lisa Bertucci talks to Shirin Neshat about her film Women Without Men, which was adapted from Shahrnush Parsipur's novel of the same name. Neshat discusses her process and intentions in creating the film, the decisions she made when adapting from the source material, as well as the importance of its historical Iranian subject matter. The film is set during the 1953 Coup in Iran, an event often overlooked in Western media.
