In this interview, John Smith discusses many of the videos and films he has created throughout his life. Smith explains how he intentionally blurs the line between fact and fiction, and creates films which raise expectations and then purposefully do not meet them, particularly when he is working with the documentary form and narratives. Smith also creates ambiguity between what is film and what is art, and enjoys drawing attention to the construction of his work.
