Jon Ippolito, editor of the conference publication, outlines and describes a questionnaire that has been made available to the conference's participating artists. The questionnaire, developed by the Guggenheim's variable media team, hopes to stimulate responses that will help to make clear the concerns artists have with conserving and presenting their work. The data is then collected and placed into a database that is made available to institutions to share and compare. The results serve as an aid to curators or technicians and combine the crucially important duties of preservation with presentation.
