by Priscilla Frank

Huffington Post, Mar. 13, 2013

An interview with video art pioneer, Joan Jonas, whose work, in the 1960s, explored the relationships between video, performance, art and reality. Her 2012 multimedia piece, "Reanimation" is a meditative, poetic video performance with political overtones which address climate change under global warming. In the interview, Jonas discusses her collaboration process; video art, transformed in the age of YouTube and social media; as well as the way video and film making, while dependent upon technology, can still be used to address issues concerning the natural environment.
