Assimilating Video
October, Summer 2011, no. 137, pp. 69-83
Taken from a familiar "death of film" perspective, the author looks at how video has come to hold a powerful place in the world of experimental cinema and at the reactions of those who practice and study it. This is also compared to the general reaction that was given to Super 8 film in its early days. Through all of this, questions are asked about the future of experimentation and cinematic media.
