A short review of Patty Chang and David Kelley's 2007 work Flotsam Jetsam. The article focusses on how the piece refuses a documentary style which is intolerant of conscious posing or acting on the part of its subjects. The author also discusses the use of the soundtrack in the piece, and the Chinese influences of the two American artists.
