From Analogue to Digital Distribution
Moving Image Review & Art Journal (MIRAJ), 2012, v. 1, no. 2, p. 3
In this piece Julia Knight chronicles her fight of debunking misinformed beliefs about the practice of film and video distribution. In the early 2000’s, at the height of the move towards digital distribution, Knight began a research project which looked at the distribution practices of various organizations in the United Kingdom and recounts her findings, such as the slow blurring of a distribution collection and an archive. Challenges pertaining to preservation, licensing and digitization are discussed.
