by Camille Georgeson-Usher

Canadian Art, Jan 23, 2018, p. 8

Qulliq, which is a tradional oil lamp used by Arctic to provide light and warmth, is also the name of the film which was featured at the imagineNATIVE Festival. It was the earliest film in the Channel 51 Igloolik screening. Asinnajaq (Isabella Rose Weetaluktuk), who is an Inuk artist and curator from Inukjuaq and Montreal, put Inuit films together for the Channel 51 Igloolik exhibition to celebrate 30 years of Inuit film. The author briefly discusses the films that were featured in the exhibition: Aqtuqsi (1996), Issautuq (2007), Bowhead Whale Hunting With My Ancestors (2017), and Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner (2001),
