Sincerely, Warmly essay by Daniella Sanader

Taking her curated screening Sincerely, Warmly as a jumping-off point, this text poetically stitches together Daniella Sanader’s archival research notes, citations, and present-day reflections in a format that explores the parallels between watching video art and writing letters.

Dorothy Christian essay on the films of Victor Masayesva, Jr.

In honour of the 20th anniversary of the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival (October 22-27, 2019), Vtape has published an essay (see below) by Dr. Dorothy Christian on the work of Hopi storyteller and filmmaker Victor Masayesva, Jr., based on the curated program she has produced for the festival (Oct. 25, 1:00pm at Artscape Sandbox).

Excerpts from this live TV talk and performance show at Lee’s Palace co-hosted by Louise Garfield (The Clichettes) and Clifton Joseph (De Dub Poets) give an archival glimpse into the Queen St. W Toronto media arts scene in the late 1980s that FUSE as an artist and cultural news magazine helped nurture and champion. It was taped live and cablecast in early 1998 by Rogers Cable 10 – Toronto.
