Going Public is composed of a collection of nine separate performance works, each utilizing some aspect or quality inherent in the video medium. Electronic manipulations such as video feedback, keying of negatives and positives of an image-juxtaposed, and commentaries on the television personality are investigated. The audio is manipulated/distorted with the use of tape loops, delays, feedback and through the use of audio synthesizers.
The last five minutes of the tape features a video lament on the state of the American educational system, America And The Classics, a la Ezra Pound wearing the face of Paul Gaugin's self portrait painting (lines from Cantico Del Sole - Ezra Pound).
