Mr. Paterson is a musician, video and performance artist living in Toronto. At the time of this portrait he was artist- in-residence at the Western Front (Vancouver). The videotape observes him finishing recent video work, in preparation for a performance piece at Pumps Gallery, and during the performance that evening.
