This tape, part three of a five-part, three hour video study, is a portrait of David Wells, one of the residents of the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home in Springdale, Newfoundland.

"Mr. Wells is eighty-two, was married once and had twelve children, then his first wife died. He married again, a much younger woman, who, nervous and worn out finally by his inexorable aging put him here in the home. And almost every day at least once, as a kind of futile ritual of determination and salvation, he wheels himself into the front lobby and tries to escape out the front door.
