FRESH BLOOD is a hybrid documentary involving personal narrative and a video essay style. It's dominant themes are around belonging and identity. Specifically the piece engages issues of: Jewish racialized identity; Arab / Jewish dichotomies and the ways these come together in Iraqi Jewish culture; the personal implications of the politics of Palestine and of the Jewish holocaust; as well as issues of multiculturalism. Throw in some bellydancing and there is sufficient material to provide a critical and vibrant look at the various intersections of identity.

b.h. Yael is a Toronto based video, film and installation artist. Her work emphasizes the multiplicity of experiences in the roles of woman and / or mother. Her work includes her award-winning video
MY MOTHER IS A DANGEROUS WOMAN which explores the role of storyteller/writer and the roles of daughter and mother as well as her 1991 film, IS DAD DEAD YET, which explores the dynamics, secrets and cycles of a family through the conversation of two women. b.h. Yeal currently teaches at the Ontario College of Art and is actively involved in curating and coordinating film and video festivals.
