Hair

TAPECODE 434.12

Hair is inspired by low-tech, late night advertising. This tape consciously parodies the style, ambiguity and formal naivete of cheaply made commercials and home shopping networks, in which necessity - even desperation - to sell products has priority over all the subtlety of persuasion. Irony and humour are used to provide a critique of these obvious mechanisms. By appropriating and subverting the technique, the political and sexual connotations implicit in the genre, are exposed.
