The monotony of everyday routine life becomes a weapon and corners women whose energy overflows the containment of the mere role as a housewife. The more she is capable, a woman who strives to express herself receives retaliation from her own suppressed desires. Kiyoko's Situation expresses this theme through the life of a woman who aspires to become a painter. It is normal for a woman to marry, to become a mother and to fulfill the role as a wife throughout her life - such thoughts bring ruin to the lives of so many women. However, such fact is hardly brought to light except for a handful of noted women.

Perhaps not as tragically extreme as Kiyoko's situation, I created this work while strongly feeling the necessity to reconsider the causal roots of the emotional sufferings and the psychological pains of the many women suppressed by the societal roles enforced upon them.
