This tape explores different landscapes of fear across five short and seemingly unrelated stagings: a woman alone in her apartment; an interactive video devoted to treating 'panic attacks; a research program studying sexually abused girls; an interview with George Melies about science and cinema; and finally, a woman preparing to give birth. Each story creates a different pattern in the juxtaposition of science, women and fear. In the culture of science, what many women have come to fear most are numbers.
