A video by Judy Koch, herself a disabled woman, on Employment Equity, "Employment Equity the Challenge" was released in March 1999. This video tells the story of employment equity in Ontario. People from each of the four groups designated by the employment equity law, women, people of colour, aboriginal people and people with disabilities are interviewed. As well Mark Hart, a lawyer working on the charter challenge to the repeal of the employment law tells the history of the law and a bit about the court case.
This video is good for people who want to know more about the employment equity law. Employment equity was the only way that disadvantaged people could be treated fairly in the workplace. It's repeal meant that these people can no longer get the good paying jobs. Often these disadvantaged people can no longer get any job.
