A large video image of a figure intermittently unbuttoning and buttoning a white shirt is projected into a corner of a gallery space. Viewers hear six brief stories told by two overlapping voices. Although there is repetition both in the video image and the audio track, subtle changes occur as the audio shifts in relation to the image.

Originally produced in 1996, DUET is based on published accounts about men who were revealed to have been biological females. The six subjects honoured in this work lived from the turn-of-the-century to 1993, and died from illness or were murdered. The script was revised in 2014, and performed by actors Evalyn Parry and Moynan King.
