A poetic refrain on what constitutes "good advice," this video is comprised of three parts: 1) Der Alchimist (introduction), 2) Garden of Delights (allegro molto), and 3) The Flight (serenade). Throughout each sequence, a collage of archival and unique footage explores ontologies of diverse subjects including the human body, historical film and painting, and language, through a postmodern sensibility.
On this work, Guzman offers:
musical, philosophical, poetic, sensual, humourous. the body and its temptations. the cocotte and the alchemist invite the spectator: complicity at all levels. the tremor shudders, while a new enticement opens up. it is not necessary to undergo any conviction, there are formulas, divertimentos. the flight instead of the fall.
