I am a Bodhisattva

Two friends take a walk through the busy business downtown core of the city of Toronto. One asks the other, "Did you know I'm a Bodhisattva? " She answers him when he asks what that is. He says, "That's far out." And it is.
Their conversation is augmented by a famous 70's song of The Dooby Brothers "Listen to the Music."
The subject is a vow in which a person works for the liberation of all sentient beings. The idea of this vow is met with a certain skepticism by the friend and a light-hearted humorous banter ensues. It is a glimpse into the world of Buddhist possibilities.

Susan MacKay is a multi-media artist living in Toronto. I am a Bodhisattva was commissioned by writer/artist R.M. Vaughan for The Faith Healers show at A Space Artist's Outlet Toronto in July 2002.
