"A magician somewhere waves his hand, and we're off on our travels into the realms of laughter and tears. We are youthful romancers living in another world." - Paramount Pictures press release

Old Movie is a found-footage video that writes a screenplay for a celluloid culture's history of consciousness. Exclusively using material plundered from hundreds of films of the past, this video employs non-linear computer editing systems as decks and sequencers to explore and subvert our favorite pastime through cinema-sampling. Moving quasi-chronologically from Busby Berkeley through to '50s horror films, Old movie is an extensive collage about the dream and doom of this legacy of images.
