TAPECODE 744.00

Video Wash May 21, 1973: The artist places a Sony camera in his lap, clasped between his legs, pointed at and focused upon the face. The artist spits saliva into the lens cup, as frequently as he can build up sufficient moisture to do so. This gesture is repeated for the duration of the tape (approx. 30 minutes). Initially the act obscurs the portrait image until sufficient depth creates something of a narcissus pool that somewhat allows access to a blurry self-image.
