This multi-artist compilation DVD takes "video activism" to a new level. In nine short videos it highlights a full decade of work by one of Canada's most renowned and contentious social justice groups, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty. OCAP's work has ranged from infamously 'addressing the legislature' on June 15, 2000, to raising welfare rates for thousands via their Special Diet Supplement campaign, and these shorts highlight many of their most dramatic actions. Using a wide range of creative approaches, RECAP proves that activist cinema can be formally diverse and entertaining without sacrificing an iota of relevance.
