5 Point Rack is a video installation hung as a portrait by turning an LCD screen sideways, framed in a white Art Nouveau frame. The bust of a mercurial woman morphs slowly through five hybrid forms. These forms
range from a beautiful figurine of a woman, a deer, a werewolf, a plush tiger and a ram. This hybrid creature floats within a white void; its eyes and mouth are hollow, revealing the abyss that stretches behind it. The
creature is an ephemeral, mutable prop within an equally ephemeral media ranging from kawaii characteristics to monstrosity, beauty to whimsy - the perfect subject for digital theatre.

The hybridization of nature and design reflects the idea of the grotesque: nature and artifice, whimsical and horrific, archetypal beauty and fantastical deviation. Film, television and advertisement thrive within these types of opposition, and the extremes intensify as technology evolves.
